As founder and Chairman of Sonoa Healthcare, Bob has drawn together a diverse team of highly skilled professionals who are developing a range of innovative healthcare services aimed at the worldwide community.

Prior to Sonoa Healthcare, Bob established Origin Healthcare to manage Australia's deteriorating shortage of healthcare staff. Origin Healthcare went on to become one of Australia’s top 500 private companies.

Bob has extensive experience in healthcare, business, financial and human resources management.  He has held senior positions with some of Australia’s largest employers including the Skilled Group, Origin Healthcare, the Capital Territory Health Commission, Aboriginal Hostels, and the Commonwealth Departments of Communications, Defence Support and Foreign Affairs.

Bob holds an MBA from Melbourne Business School.  He is an Associate Fellow of the Australasian College of Health Service Management, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute.

Bob was awarded the Ernst & Young Southern Region Entrepreneur of the Year for the services sector in 2002.

As Medical Director, Professor Gab Kovacs AM is responsible for advising the board on the appointment and performance of the various editorial boards established by Sonoa Healthcare®.

The purpose and function of these boards is to develop healthcare information databases for use by consumers. These databases are designed and presented in such a way as to allow individuals to participate in treatment decisions with both their medical practitioners and their families.

Professor Kovacs is currently Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash university and has published more than 130 scientific papers, over 30 chapters in textbooks, and has written five books for the public and edited ten textbooks. 

He has held senior membership roles with a number of high level healthcare committees and organisations and has a wide network of healthcare colleagues in both practice and academia.

Professor Kovacs was recognised for his achievments in healthcare by the Australian Government when he was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2004.

As Executive Director, Corporate Affairs, Terry is primarily responsible for maintenance of the highest standards of corporate governance, financial standards and social responsibility within the Sonoa Healthcare Group.

Terry has been a career banker for over 43 years. He has recently returned to Australia having spent the last 20 years overseas.  He first moved to Hong Kong in 1989 where he was responsible for setting up HSBC’s Asia Pacific sub-custody network.  Following HSBC’s acquisition of Midland Bank in 1992, he moved to London where he was initially Head of Midland Bank’s Global Custody business and later added the responsibility for Midland’s retail stock broking network.

Terry retired from HSBC in 1999 and has spent the last 10 years advising a number of securities related businesses in Europe and North America. He was also appointed to several boards as an independent non-executive director including 9 years on the board of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment in London.

Terry was appointed a Magistrate in the City of London Magistrates’ Court in 2005, a position he held until his return to Australia in February 2008.

He is a graduate of Monash University’s David Syme Business School, a Founding Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of FINSIA, a Certified Senior Finance and Treasury Professional with the FTA and an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment in the UK.  He is registered with the UK Financial Services Authority to act as an independent non-executive director.

As Executive Director, Legal, Andrew is responsible for advising the Board on all legal, regulatory, compliance, and associated risk management matters that are or may become issues for Sonoa Healthcare. Andrew has extensive, diverse, and comprehensive experience in commercial, governmental, and military legal practice.

He has provided advice to international companies on matters involving corporate financial, foreign business establishment, and regulatory compliance services in the law firms of Blake Dawson Waldron in Sydney and with Norton Rose in London. This advice extended to matters involving intellectual property, raising equity and borrowings, contract preparation, financial services and insurance regulation, and business and corporate acquisitions.

He has held a senior advisory position in the Department of Justice and the Department of Human Services that entailed new governmental policy formation and legislation development, including regulation covering the provision of allied health services. In this capacity, he regularly advised ministers with practical solutions to legal and political problems and represented the Department on national consultative committees.
